Accommodation / Excursion


All registered participants will stay at Westin Awaji that is directly connected to the International Conference Hall.


We offer 3 types of excursions.

Course 1 Himeji Castle Tour (World Cultural Heritage and National Treasure)
Course 2 Uzushio Cruizing Tour
Course 3 Ishida Rice Terrace

Course 1:
Himeji Castle Tour (World cultural heritage and National treasure)

Himeji Castle is called “The White Heron Castle” as its graceful white building looks like a white heron in the flight and was registered as a World Heritage Site in December, 1993. It has retained its original beauty for more than 400 years.

Itinerary (tentative)

The Westin Awaji Island (11:00) - (Bus ride) - Himeji Castle (12:30-14:30) - (Bus ride) -The Westin Awaji Island (16:00)

Course 2: Uzushio Cruizing Tour

You are able to look at the world largest whirlpool with the boat cruising.
Also you are able to enjoy the large panoramic view.

Course 3: Ishida Rice Terrace

Ishida Rice Terrace is located at the north-west of the Awaji Island.
Rice terrace is a rice field which is plowed using slope like stairs.
You are able to enjoy the Japanese original landscape.
Ishida Rice Terrace is famous for its beautiful view at dusk.

The Westin Awaji Island (11:00) - (Bus ride) - Lunch at an ocean view restaurant (12:00-13:00) - (Bus ride) - Ishida Rice Terrace (13:30-15:00) - (Bus ride) - The Westin Awaji Island (16:00)

  • For Himeji Castle Course and Uzushio Tour, a lunch box will be provided in the tour bus. For Ishida Rice Terrace Tour, the lunch is planned to take place at an ocean view Japanese Restaurant. If you need special attention on food selection, please let us know. (The lunch fee is included in the registration fee.)
